This month, Briana and I were able to go to the Passion2010 Conference in Atlanta, GA. We took 15 students with us, along with 6 leaders. It was a time of reminding us of our purpose here on earth, to glorify God in all we do. No matter what we do here, it should be centered on giving God glory, and praising Him, no matter what circumstances we find ourselves in. One of the greatest things that I personally got out of this time was when Francis Chan preached about how we should tremble at the very Word of God. Treating the Bible so carelessly is a representation of how we feel about God’s Word. Being able to just hold God’s Word and read His very thoughts is such a blessing, and we should be thankful that God graciously gave it to us, so that we may have a relationship with Him. The fact that we have so many Bibles in our house probably leads us to appreciate the gift that we have. For example, it was freezing cold while we were there, and we walked a mile every day to the arena. I never appreciated the heat as much as I did that weekend because I was in the cold for so long. The heat was something I look forward to, and something that was so limited until I got inside. In the same way, if we only had one Bible like some people do in other countries, or even just one Bible in the village, we would take it much seriously and appreciate is much more. Long story short, this conference was AWESOME and something that has rejuvenated both Briana and myself. On top of that, being around 21,000 college students/leaders who loved the Lord was amazing, especially during worship. It was a small glimpse of what it will feel like in Heaven when we are all surrounding the throne of God, singing praises to Him!
