So many times, we briefly talk about missions, and skim the surface of the importance of reaching all people, all nations, all tongues. We treat missions like we do exercise…something that we should take a part in, and it would be really good for us if we did, but only the truly dedicated ones can commit to something that life changing. Isn’t it amazing how short sighted we are. We keep taking our eyes off of the eternal because of the distractions from the earthly things. We get one chance at taking hold of all God has given us, and using it for His purpose. One chance. That’s it. And there are millions of people who also get this one chance, one chance to meet the Savior, Jesus Christ, to find redemption and a renewed relationship with their Father, God. One chance. I can’t reiterate those two words. One chance.
I get the chance to be a part of a missions revival back home at Glennview Baptist Church. This will be a 4 day event covering everything from International missions to missions right in the backyard. Our goal is to spread the awareness of what is going on around the world, how the Gospel of Jesus Christ is being shared with all people, and how everyone can be a part of this glorious opportunity. So many times we treat missionaries as either brave or crazy, or usually both! But God has called us to be both brave and crazy for Him, because His way of doing things in this world is crazy compared to the norm. We can ALL be missionaries, whether at our work places or to a different country. The heart of missions is simply sharing the wonderful life changing news to people who need to hear it. We should want everyone to hear this great message, and receive the freedom from sin and the hope of eternal life. So be a missionary….share Jesus! It WILL change your life.
